AND VIDEO #2 WHAT IS THE POINT OF MY POSTING THESE? JUST HOW DOES A SCREENWRITER ADAPT A BOOK WITH SUCH INTENSITY, WHAT INSIGHT MUST A SCREENWRITER HAVE, BESIDES BEING WELL READ, INSIGHTFUL, INTELLIGENT, .....?

Thank you Becki. I appreciate it.

I just want to tell Frank that I am reading his book, Cyberkill. I am really enjoying your story. I hate to put it down. Good luck on your screenplay. Hope it happens.
Blessings, Becki

Thanks for the advice, Lynda. I will play(pardon the pun) around with it and see if it's for me. It's the technical parts I don't get. However, if my book is excepted as a movie, I will get a piddling amount of moneyt, as my book will become merely a proposal or idea. If I could write the script, I would get much more money and residuals. I sure wish I had taken the time to learn before I got published.
Thanks again. BTW, how much do you charge for reviews? And is there a charge for posting one's book here? I don't see a place for books.

Alright, this second post is for Frank. I'm excited to read the screenplay. I have written screenplays before--that does not make me an expert, it only tells me I have SOME interest and experience in the FEEL of how a screenplay influences my vision of the story. I've read your book (very good), now: I will read the screenplay (I need some time thought, between reviews and othe stuff!) and give you my two cents' worth. I'd love to see it come out in film

O.K, my first response is to Miki. Of Course it is POSSIBLE, but not necessarily the best thing to do.

We probably all can write screenplays if we wanted to put our time & energy in it. But if it strikes you as .. uh.. yuk! Don't bother with it. Believe it or not, there are people who LOVE the genre.

I would rather just write in play format than screenplay, yet they are very similar. What I like about the play format better is that stage directions can be verbose, and more to the point, whereas screenwriting -- to me -- has silly little jargon that you need to follow and you can't veer from it. On the other hand, one can understand why: Screenplays are meant to run through quickly, by image-makers (producers, editors) I think, and they have to be able to, in as little creative imaging as possible --envision what is being said and directed. OK that's my take and it can only be refuted by a REAL SCREENWRITER! So c'mon, guys!

I have successfully, with the help of my editor, turned my new novel CyberKill into a screenplay. We are now marketing it to producers and movie companies. It is currently up on InkTip.com.

You can see the book trailer that the movie is based on at cyberkill.frankfiore.com

And and all ideas on who to market the screenplay to are welcome.

Hi all,

I have learned to write in every genre except script/screen writing. It looks like Greek to me. The only positive thing I can see is that it uses mostly dilalogue--something I do well with and is usually 100 pages, give or take. Now that my book has the eye of two producers, I'd love to write the screen play myself--think this is possible? And better stil, would the average producer allow this??

I saw the new Star Trek last Sunday. I wasn't sure I would like the new characters that replaced the original. But I've got to tell you I was pleasantly surprised and thought the new Star Trek was fantastic. It really left the door open for other Star Trek movies. The new Captain Kirk is almost as good as the original Captain Kirk. I also liked the newest versions of Bones, Checkov, Scotty and Sulu. The producers more or less stayed with the theme with a few new wrinkles in it, one especially concerning Uhura and Spock. But you've got to go see it for yourself. I wouldn't mind seeing it again. I've got to tell you if my husband liked it that says it all. Enjoy the movie trekkies, it is great.

I am going (May 22,2009 at 6:50pm) to see Star Trek (hey: I'm a trekkie from way back!) and I will tell you fans all about it when I return!
Enjoy!

Lydia, I saw this movie a while back on TV. I would really like to read the book. It was a good movie but I bet the book is better than the movie. Do you have the book?
