If someone contacts me to buy the rights to my book, for a movie or T.V. show, what would be a good selling price?

My response was that we all need to know a little about how the industry works if we are to negotiate for our professional income, so my suggestion is to pick up a copy of one of the industry books from your friendly neighborhood bookstore, or library. One of the books I have accessable to me at present is one that was written by Alexander Kopelman, Kathryn Shagas, and Judith Levine:
National Writers Union Guide to Freelance Rates & Standard Practice. (1997), about $19.95 back then, don't know now. I am sure there is a updated edition, but this is the one I had and the one that spelled out to me some of the things of which we all should be aware.
If anyone knows of others, and/or could help on response, please send a message to me, and i will post it up here as a membership conversation, on the main page.

1) Go to "Manage" tab at the red bar above,
2) Go to the "Members" heading about the third block down,
3) Once you get to Members list, find your name,
4) Check the box next to your name,
5) Go to the white open tab at the top where it displays the word, "Actions"
6) pull that down, and you will see all the "Administrator Roles"
7) Choose that role you wish to administrate and moderate,
8) If you don't see one of the gorups it is because NING did not allow me to use any more space.
9) You need only go to the group, press "EDIT GROUP" and take the Moderator role as you make any changes within you wish.
These tasks are ONLY for those members that asserted their full-membership, those who wish to help out on the site.
